Interestingly enough, I first met Pietro Straccia through the wine business. He was selling, I was buying, and it actually took a few years of this before our conversations turned more to art and music, and less to things culinary. Getting together took a bit longer than we expected, but the timing turned out to be perfect, as he was right in the middle of recording what will be his first proper full length. Shooting in two different spaces proved to be ideal as well. Tiny Telephone studios is a dark, moody place tucked away in the Potreo Hill district of San Francisco which is in stark contrast to Pietro’s loft in Oakland, airy and flooded with sunlight. After the final shoot, we sat a listened to the rough mix of the record, which conceptually takes place during a 24 hour period. It is worth getting excited about.
